At its annual Gala, the AFA honored renowned contemporary artist Spencer Finch and former ARTnews editor and publisher Milton Esterow.

Prominent art collector Mickey Cartin and art dealer and author Michael Findlay introduced each respectively. Three-term New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg offered praise and congratulations to Spencer Finch via a video segment. The Cultural Leadership Awards are given annually by the AFA to artists, museum leaders, and a philanthropists in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the art community.
